Former Miami Dolphins player hosts golf tournament to benefit youth programs

WESTON, Fla. – Retired Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Vernon Carey Sr. is hosting the 15th Annual Carey Family Foundation Celebrity Golf Tournament.

The event takes place on Oct. 14 at The Club at Weston Hills. The tournament begins at 8:45 a.m.

Joining Carey will be more than 30 professional athletes in an effort to raise funds for the Carey Family Foundation, which supports educational, recreational and economic opportunities in communities across South Florida.

The tournament will also help fund “One-Step to a Brighter Future” scholarships for Miami-Dade Public School seniors.

“My family and I are looking forward to this year’s tournament,” said Carey. “We are very thankful to our sponsors for their continued support to help us raise funds so we can grow the foundation and continue to give children in our community a vision of hope.”
