MIAMI – Give Miami Day is an online fundraiser, hosted by The Miami Foundation that offers everyone the opportunity to give to 1,300 local nonprofits that address critical community issues on a daily basis.
Now in its 13th season, Give Miami Day began with early giving on Sunday and culminates with the signature 24-hour giving event tomorrow. It will feature real-time donation updates and giving statistics. One hundred percent of donations will support a wide-range of nonprofit sectors, including environmental protection, wellness, civic engagement, animal advocacy and youth art programs. The Miami Foundation is expecting to surpass the more than $34 million raised last year.

“We want participating nonprofits to be stronger than they were before Give Miami Day,” said Rebecca Fishman Lipsey, president and CEO of The Miami Foundation. “This year we expect to see record participation and civic pride. Whether it’s a $25 donation or a $25,000 donation, we will use our platforms to amplify the voices of Miamians through their giving to help address the issues Miami residents care about most.”
According to The Miami Foundation, approximately 40% of nonprofits do not have professional fundraisers on staff and more than half have operating budgets under $250,000. With Give Miami Day, gifts start at $25 and have the potential to grow significantly thanks to an anonymous Million Dollar Match fund that applies a $25 bonus to every unique donation.
“We hope to see all Miamians getting involved in Give Miami Day. This is a day where everyone can play a role in building the Miami we want to live in,” said Miami Foundation Board Chair, Sheldon Anderson, CEO of Grove Bank and Trust. “Communities are stronger when everyone shows up, finds a cause they care about, and gets involved.”
