Taylor Swift fans flock to South Florida as local businesses join the frenzy

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Fans have already started lining up at Hard Rock Stadium to get their hands on Taylor Swift merchandise ahead of her highly anticipated shows this weekend.

Local 10 News reporter Annaliese Garcia was at the stadium Thursday, where some fans have been waiting since Wednesday to grab exclusive items, such as crewnecks, tote bags, and shirts. Crews have been busy transforming the stadium into a wonderland for the concert, set to kick off Friday night.

It’s a big weekend for Swifties in South Florida, as the pop icon hasn’t performed here since 2018 during her “Reputation” tour.

The excitement is palpable as fans prepare for Swift’s latest “Eras” tour, which has taken the world by storm.

Noon report:

Businesses like Miami’s Night Owl Cookies are also joining in on the Swiftmania, creating themed treats inspired by some of Swift’s most popular albums, including “Reputation,” “Midnights,” and “Lover.”

“We created cookies that represent my favorite albums of hers, and they sold out in less than an hour last time,” a Night Owl Cookies representative said.

In Brickell, Rosa Sky rooftop is hosting a Taylor Swift tribute party, complete with signature cocktails like “Feeling 22″ and “Lavender Haze.” The venue has been redecorated with disco balls and Swift-themed décor for the occasion.

For those looking to connect with fellow Swifties, there’s now an app for that.

As tickets for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour remain in high demand, some lucky shoppers at the new H&M store at Brickell City Centre lined up for a chance to win gift cards and tickets to the tour during the store’s grand opening.

Meanwhile, Miami-Dade police have announced road closures around Hard Rock Stadium. Northwest 199th Street, between Northwest 27th Avenue and Northwest 14th Court, along with the Turnpike 2X ramp and exit, will be closed.

The closures will start Friday from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and again from 10:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. On Saturday and Sunday, closures will run from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and from 10:30 p.m. to 1 a.m.

With three back-to-back shows starting Friday, Swift’s South Florida fans are in for a memorable weekend as the final leg of her international Eras tour kicks off.
