MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Swifties are showing off their love of sparkle and friendship bracelets during the three days of the Taylor Swift Eras Tour at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. They are not just affecting traffic. The hospitality industry is catering to them with themed events, and the Kamala Harris campaign is trying to connect with them.
The Democratic National Committee celebrated when Taylor Swift announced Sept. 10 on Instagram that she had watched the debate between the vice president and former President Donald Trump and decided who she was supporting this November.

The 14-time Grammy winner posted a portrait with one of her cats to criticize Trump’s running mate JD Vance’s criticism of “childless cat ladies” and “weird cat ladies” and she signed her statement as “Taylor Swift Childless Cat Lady” after encouraging her fans to register to vote.
“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them. I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos. I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades,” she wrote.
For Swifties who will be voting in Florida, the activists of Florida Student Power put up a billboard off Interstate 95 northbound with a message for them in white over pink asking them to “Shake Off” the abortion ban and vote yes on Amendment 4. The DNC also has a mobile billboard on a boat and a new “Be Fearless” Snapchat filter.
On Friday night, Swifties enjoyed 49 songs including a surprise “Florida!!!” duet with English singer and songwriter Florence Welch. She connected with the University of Miami fans with an orange and green outfit during her “1989″ era performance and with 305 Spanglish speakers with her “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” — “Pero, like never.” Fans also noticed Taylor Swift changed the black and red “Reputation” jumpsuit she wore for 131 shows for a black and gold snake body suit during her performance of “Look What You Made Me Do.”
With them in mind, the DNC launched the Taylor Swift-themed “I Will Vote” campaign.
“This election will determine the future for young voters, from student loan debt relief and economic opportunity to whether they have fewer rights than their grandmothers did,” Rosemary Boeglin, DNC communications director, said in a statement.
