According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, Venegas, 23, was arrested Sunday in Naples on charges of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of an altered firearm.
According to his arrest report, Venegas was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over Sunday night due to the driver failing to stop at a stop sign while leaving a gas station.
Authorities said a sergeant asked the two to exit the vehicle as he had requested a K-9 unit to search the vehicle.
Authorities said the two complied and a clear plastic Ziploc bag with five Oxycodone pills was found on the passenger side floorboard.
Deputies said a handgun was also found inside a brown handbag along with a plastic straw that had been cut and had a white powdery substance inside it.
According to the arrest report, Venegas waived his Miranda rights and agreed to answer the sergeant’s questions, however his statements to the sergeant were redacted from the publicly released report.
The Island Boys, which also consists of Venegas’ twin brother, Alex, rose to fame in 2021 with their viral hit “I’m an Island Boy.”
Venegas, also known by his stage name Kodiyakredd, was previously arrested in Fort Lauderdale back in May 2024. In that incident, the Lake Worth resident was accused of pretending to be his brother when he was pulled over for reckless driving.
Records show he was also previously arrested by the Broward Sheriff’s Office in May 2023 in Pompano Beach on accusations that he battered his live-in girlfriend.
Court records show prosecutors eventually dropped the misdemeanor battery case on May 16, 2023.
