Hallandale Eats returns, offering local flavors and great deals

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – The Hallandale Eats Restaurant Weeks have returned, giving food enthusiasts a chance to explore local restaurants and hidden gems offering discounted meals across the city.

More than 20 restaurants in Hallandale Beach are now offering discounted meals for the citywide event that aims at showcasing local dining spots and boosting business.

The initiative, which started during the pandemic, is back after a one-year break to help businesses during slower months.

At Flashback Diner, which is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, guests can enjoy $25 breakfast meals and $35 dinners, including an appetizer, entrée, and dessert.

“The intention was to attract all ages,” said Flashback Diner’s owner Toula Amanna. “Older people are nostalgic for the ‘50s and ‘60s, and younger people want to stay up all night.”

New dishes are also on the menu, including a chocolate tres leches cake that’s quickly becoming a crowd favorite.

Over on Hallandale Beach Boulevard, Pastina Pastas & Vinos is offering a full meal deal, which includes an appetizer, entrée, dessert and a glass of wine.

“We make everything on the spot,” said co-owner Drago Stoyanovich. “It’s all fresh, it’s all homemade.”

At Pastina, the concept allows diners to build their own pasta dishes, choosing from options like spaghetti, penne, fettuccine and rigatoni.

“You decide what to put on your pasta, and we’ll cook it the way you like it,” Stoyanovich said.

Hallandale Eats is part of the city’s “BE LOCAL” initiative, aimed at supporting businesses and fostering community engagement.

“We may be a small city, but we’re a great city,” said Faith Phinn, the city’s deputy executive director. “I want to encourage people to come out and see what we have to offer.”

The event runs until Sept. 30. Click here for a full list of participating restaurants.
