The final straw came after multiple rounds of inspections uncovered persistent rodent problems, highlighted on Local 10′s Dirty Dining segment.
Back in August, Gary, the restaurant’s manager, was hopeful.
“We had just taken back the franchise,” he told Local 10 investigator Jeff Weinsier. “It had been neglected by the previous franchisee.”
Back in July, the restaurant was ordered shut due to significant rodent activity. Gary told Local 10 things would change and the restaurant was working with Orkin.
In September, an inspector with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation was back at Stoner’s.
The inspector found more rodent droppings scattered across the dry storage room, dishwashing area, kitchen, and even in the pizza-making supplies. Evidence of gnawed bags of flour and droppings near food storage led to a stop-sale order on some supplies.
The restaurant was also cited for objectionable odors throughout the building and lacking state-approved training for employees.
Stoner’s was also ordered shut in September 2022 due to roach and insect problems.
