BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – Between April 2 and April 10, four South Florida restaurants were ordered shut and one well-known wholesale bakery faced a stop sale and stop use order after state inspectors found alarming health violations.

Jayno’s Pizza in Fort Lauderdale was shut down after inspectors found roaches crawling on dough prep tables and expired ricotta cheese.
Japan Inn II and Sushi Ato in Weston, along with Le Goût des Caraïbes in North Lauderdale, were also shut for pest issues and unsafe food handling.
Bread & Co., known as “Florida’s Finest Artisan Kosher Bakery,” was not shut down, but inspectors issued a stop sale on its baked goods and a stop use order on the entire kitchen after finding live roaches and flies throughout food prep and storage areas.
All the places ordered shut have been allowed to re-open following an ordered clean up and re-inspection.
