HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – A woman's body was found on the beach Wednesday morning in Hollywood.
The body was found on the sand about 2:30 a.m. near Filmore Street and the Hollywood Broadwalk, Officer Christian Lata said.
Beachgoers looked on as officers combed the sand in search of clues, leaving several evidence markers behind.
Less than a block away from that scene, within walking distance, Local 10 News saw officers trying to get inside a building. One officer was observed entering through a window.
Moments later, officers entered through the door.
Hollywood police confirmed that a second body was found inside that location and that the two deceased persons knew each other.
Police are calling the deaths suspicious.
"That's horrible," resident Marie Brown told Local 10 News. "My goodness. That's awful."
Homicide detectives are continuing to investigate.
Police have yet to release the identities of either person.
