HIALEAH, Fla. – No injuries were reported after a large crane fell on top of a door company in a warehouse area of Hialeah Friday afternoon.
Early Saturday morning, larger, heavier cranes arrived to remove the fallen one.
Video from Sky 10 showed the fully-extended crane laying atop R&R Doors Corp. inside the industrial complex at 1660 West 33rd Place.
The crane was 200 feet in the air moving merchandise when it came crashing down.
Four employees and three dogs were able to make it out of the building safely. The crane operator was also not hurt. The moment of impact was caught on surveillance inside the business as the crane came crashing down.
Structural damage could be seen at multiple points of the building, although it's not yet known how much damage was sustained. Authorities are investigating what caused the crane to collapse. Investigators said it will take hours to remove the large crane from the building.
The crane operator returned on Saturday morning but told Local 10 News that he was instructed not to speak on camera by his employers.
