3 killed when Amtrak passenger train collides with vehicle in Jupiter

Deputies believe woman, 2 children killed in crash

JUPITER, Fla. ā€“ Three people were killed when an Amtrak passenger train collided with a vehicle Saturday afternoon in Jupiter.

The crash took place about 2 p.m. near the 1800 block of Beeline Highway at the entrance to the J.W. Corbett Wildlife Management Area.

Palm Beach County Sheriffā€™s Office deputies told WPBF, the ABC affiliate in Palm Beach County, that the vehicle was turning into the J.W. Corbett Wildlife Management Area and didnā€™t yield to the oncoming train.

Deputies said all three people -- believed to be a woman and two children -- in the vehicle were killed.

The train was reportedly traveling from Miami to New York.

No injuries to any train passengers have been reported.
