Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey saying what will happen if protesters get violent or break the law in his county.
“If you try to mob rule a car in Brevard County, gathering around it, refusing to let the driver leave in our county, you are most likely going to get runover and dragged across the street,” Ivey said.
Ivey went on to say, “If you spit on us, you are going to the hospital and jail. If you hit one of us, you are going to the hospital and jail, and most likely get bitten by one of our big, beautiful dogs that we have here.”
Ivey spoke in front of a podium with a placard that read, ‘Florida, the anti-riot state.’
“If you throw a brick, firebomb or point a gun at one of our deputies, we will be notifying your family where to collect your remains, because we will kill you graveyard dead.”
Ivey said he supports peaceful protest, and ended his comments saying, “So to make it real simple, if you don’t want any of those things to happen to you, obey the law. Go protest all you want. Do it peacefully. Stand on the mountaintops. Yell your opinion, your views. We invite that. But don’t you dare break the law.”
Ivey made the remarks during a news conference with Florida State Attorney General James Uthmeier in Titusville on Thursday.
