Florida man faces charges for allegedly stalking ex-girlfriend

COCOA BEACH, Fla. – A Florida man is facing charges after police say he was stalking his ex-girlfriend.

A Cocoa Beach Police officer said he was flagged down by a woman on Nov. 2, who said she was being followed by her ex-boyfriend while in Cocoa Beach.

According to police, the woman said Walter Hite Jr. of Cocoa Beach, had been following her for several months. That night, he appeared at the same restaurant where she was dining with her date.

Hite allegedly confronted the couple at the restaurant, prompting them to leave, and she later received several text messages she believed were from him.

During the investigation, officers observed Hite driving past the traffic stop multiple times. After stopping him, they discovered a GPS tracker inside his vehicle, and a second tracker was located under the woman’s vehicle.

Hite was arrested on charges of Installing a tracking device, stalking, cyberstalking, and not having a state-issued license while being a resident.
