Four people, including baby girl, shot in Miami home

21-year-old man found dead at house that’s been targeted before

MIAMI – Four people, including a baby girl, were shot while inside a Miami home late Thursday night, and police are searching for whoever pulled the trigger.

One of the victims, identified by family as 21-year-old Antoine Walker, was found dead at the scene.

The child, who was grazed by a bullet, and two adult victims are in stable condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital and expected to recover from their injuries.

Miami police say they received a ShotSpotter alert of several rounds fired in the area of Northwest 18th Avenue and 50th Street at about 11:50 p.m. Thursday.

Bullet holes are tattooed on the walls and windows of the home the victims were in. Neighbors and family members say it’s not the first time someone has targeted that house.

“These guns sounded like was a machine gun. It just went on and on and on,” said a woman who lives in the neighborhood. “I looked down and there was a dead body right there at the door."

“This is something that goes on in our neighborhood quite a lot,” she added.

Bullets tore through the family’s TV, barely missing the 78-year-old homeowner who was sleeping in his bed.

“It touched my heart, because God spared his life,” said a woman who declined to share her name but said her father lives in the home with some of his grandchildren.

As the investigation continued, two cars with bullet holes were towed away, and K9 units arrived at the scene to look for signs of a weapon — or anything that can lead police to a shooter.

Anyone with further information about the case can call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
