BSO: Woman, child shot dead inside Deerfield Beach home

BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – Detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office are investigating after they say a woman and child were shot dead inside a home in Deerfield Beach Thursday morning, and another person was found injured in the street.

According to BSO, deputies responded to reports of a shooting around 5:45 a.m. near the 4000 block of Eastridge Drive.

Upon arrival, authorities said they found a man in the street suffering from a gunshot wound.

Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue crews transported the man to a nearby hospital for treatment where he remains in critical condition, according to investigators.

Deputies said after searching inside the home where the shooting was reported, they found a woman and a male infant dead at the scene.

BSO said there does not appear to be an ongoing threat to the community at this time.

Authorities have not released any additional information on the people involved in the shooting and a motive remains unclear at this time.
