Fort Lauderdale animal shelter seeks homes for over 150 lovable cats

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Abandoned Pet Rescue in Fort Lauderdale is working hard to find permanent homes for more than 150 cats, all housed in their special “Cat Room.”

The no-kill shelter, dedicated to saving and caring for abandoned animals, is urging the community to visit and consider adopting one of their feline residents.

Local 10′s Animal Advocate Jacey Birch recently visited the rescue to highlight the need for adoptions.

While showcasing some of the shelter’s residents, Birch introduced Confetti, a friendly cat with plenty of “catitude,” and Shrimp, a two-year-old cat who was described as “food motivated.”

“Many of these cats have been here since they were babies,” Birch said. “This no-kill shelter ensures they have a place for life, but our goal is to find loving homes for these older cats.”

Abandoned Pet Rescue offers a wide variety of cats for adoption, each with unique personalities. The shelter welcomes visitors to meet the cats and learn more about how they can support the local rescue effort.

Birch encourages the community to take action at visit their local shelters.

The shelter hopes that with the public’s help, they can find permanent, loving homes for these cats, ensuring they no longer have to spend their days in the shelter.
