Man critically wounded in northwest Miami-Dade shooting

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. ā€“ Police investigated a shooting Tuesday morning in northwest Miami-Dade that left a man in critical condition.

It happened at around 10:35 a.m. in the 2400 block of Northwest 46th Street in the unincorporated Brownsville area.

A Miami-Dade Police Department spokesperson said officers were sent to the area after getting a ShotSpotter alert and arrived to find the man who had been shot in the leg.

Authorities said medics took him to Jackson Memorial Hospitalā€™s Ryder Trauma Center for treatment.

Video from Sky 10 showed a number of evidence markers in the street.

As of around 11 a.m., police said their investigation continued and the scene remained ā€œvery active.ā€

They hadnā€™t said whether they identified or detained any suspects or persons of interest.
