WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – A West Palm Beach man is being charged with voter intimidation after he was caught on camera by a news crew allegedly yelling antisemitic slurs at a campaign worker at a polling site.
Authorities said Nicholas Farley was recorded yelling at the poll worker at the Acreage Branch Library Polling site in Palm Beach County last week.
The remarks were seemingly aimed at Lilly Loudin, a campaign worker.
“I’m very happy that he has now been arrested,” said Loudin.
Farley is now behind bars, charged with voter intimidation, corruptly influencing voting with a hate crime added to each charge.
In the incident, Loudon said after the alleged antisemitic slurs, he sped toward her in the parking lot.
“He swerved, I think, to spook me. And he got pretty close,” said Loudon.
In July, Farley was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after an African American man said Farley “state some kind of racial slur.” Then, when Farley approached the man, he saw that Farley had a gun in his hand, pointed at him.
Those charges were dropped because the alleged victim said authorities did not have the proof that Farley pointed a gun at him.
An audio of the antisemitic rants allegedly made by Farley were played to State Attorney Dave Aronberg.
Following the arrest, Aronberg emailed a statement:
We will be reviewing the case, based on the information cited in the arrest report and provided by law enforcement. The first amendment does not protect someone from engaging in voter intimidation.
State Atorney, Dave Aronberg.
Farley’s bond has been set at $200,000.
