MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Miami-Dade County Public Schools are earning top marks, with 161 schools receiving the 2023-2024 Schools of Excellence designation in Florida.
According to a media release, M-DCPS accounted for 21% of the 774 Florida schools earning the distinction for the 2023-2024 school year.

According to Florida statutes, a School of Excellence is defined as a school whose possible points earned in its school grade calculation are in the 80th percentile or higher for schools comprised of the same grade groupings (elementary, middle, high, and combination) for at least two of the last three school years.
