Broward man wins $2 million playing Florida Lottery scratch-off game at Publix

TALLAHASSEE – A Broward man has brought home more than one million dollars after taking a lump sum payment from a winning Florida Lottery scratch-off ticket.

Appolon Jean, 65, of Pompano Beach, claimed the $2 million jackpot from the JACKPOT TRIPLE PLAY drawing held on July 26, 2024, at Lottery Headquarters in Tallahassee.

Jean chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $1,223,575.20.

Jean purchased his jackpot-winning JACKPOT TRIPLE PLAY Quick Pick ticket from Publix, located at 3700 North Federal Highway in Pompano Beach.

The retailer received a bonus commission of $1,000 for selling the jackpot-winning ticket.
