SWAT team standoff in Pompano Beach ends with several in handcuffs

Deputies order armed robbery suspects to surrender

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – Deputies handcuffed several suspects after a standoff involving the Broward Sheriff’s Office SWAT team on Sunday in Pompano Beach.

BSO deputies and a Coral Springs Police Department unit were at an apartment building between Sunset Drive and North Riverside Drive at Northwest Fourth Street.

According to Gerdy St. Louis, a BSO spokeswoman, deputies were searching for two suspects after an armed robbery early Sunday at Sunset Drive and Northeast Third Street.

“The subjects have refused to exit the home,” St. Louis said.

Later Hunter O’Hanian, who was in the area, shared photographs with Local 10 News showing deputies were questioning three people in handcuffs.
