Several injured including first responders after collision between fire rescue truck, lawn service vehicle

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – A Pompano Beach Fire Rescue truck became entangled in a wild crash Thursdays night after a collision with a landscaping vehicle.

Sky 10 was over the scene after it all happened in the middle of rush hour along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and Northwest 31st Avenue in Pompano Beach.

The intersection was shut down for several hours.

At least two people in that lawn service vehicle were rushed to the hospital, one with critical life threatening injuries.

According to a passenger inside the truck who was unharmed, they were coming from Orlando and crossed the intersection when the accident happened.

Three firefighters from the heavily damaged fire rescue truck were taken to a nearby hospital, along with a patient who riding in the back.

A crane and flatbeds were then called in to tow away both of the heavy duty vehicles.

A scene where the rescuers needed rescuing themselves after the serious crash that left the vehicles inoperable.
