2 hospitalized after overnight fire in Brownsville neighborhood

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – Two people were hospitalized early Tuesday morning after an overnight fire engulfed a home in northwest Miami-Dade’s Brownsville neighborhood, authorities confirmed.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said crews responded around 1:30 a.m. to a house on Northwest 61st Street and 24th Avenue.

Firefighters found the home fully engulfed in flames and rescued two occupants, who were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Initial reports indicated the victims were being treated for smoke inhalation. Their current conditions have not been released.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
