HOLLYWOOD, Fla. – Hollywood police said Monday that they’ve identified “several persons of interest” in a deadly banquet hall shooting over the weekend that killed two people and sent two more to the hospital.
Police said the shooting happened at around 1 a.m. Sunday after a baby shower at the Hollywood Jaycees Hall, located at 2930 Hollywood Blvd.
Authorities said the shooting appears to have stemmed from an argument in the parking lot.
On Monday, police said they were “investigating the involvement of (a) vehicle” after putting out a be-on-the-lookout notice. They also said that while they’ve made no arrests, “detectives have identified several persons of interest.”
Authorities haven’t publicly identified the vehicle of interest or any persons of interest. While they didn’t release the victims’ names, family members identified the two killed as Taron Nicks and Octavis Jackson. During his college years, Jackson played football for Florida State University. He was also a father of two.
Both surviving victims were recovering at Memorial Regional Hospital, police said; one of them remained in the intensive care unit as of Monday afternoon.
