It happened in the area of Northwest 71st Street and 21st Avenue.

Residents in the area said a silver Honda CRV appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed when it slammed into the Miami-Dade Metrobus.

Officer Kiara Delva later cofirmed that an undercover unit had attempted to pull over the stolen vehicle, but it fled.

She said the department’s Aviation unit then spotted the vehicle as it crashed into the bus.

“There were a few reported complaints of injuries in which Miami-Dade Fire Department responded on scene to assess,” Delva said in an email to Local 10 News. “In addition to the recovered vehicle, approximately (4) riffles were recovered as well.”

The suspect’s identity was not immediately released.
