Police make 2 arrests in case of mother, daughter shot to death along Florida Turnpike

Two arrests have been made after a mother and her 4-year-old daughter were found shot to death on the Florida Turnpike.

The crime happened on June 6, and police have now arrested 28 year-old Antoine Harris and 29 year-old Jaquan Thomas.

Harris was arrested in Miami Gardens and Thomas was arrested in Georgia.

Police found Beatrice Saintvil and her daughter Janelle Souffrant in a black sedan riddled with bullet holes, parked on the northbound left shoulder of the Florida Turnpike near Mile Marker 49, just south of Hollywood Boulevard.

Both of them were found suffering from gunshot wounds. Investigators with the Broward Sheriff’s Office determined the shots had been fired at around 11:15 p.m.

The little girl died at the scene while her mother died at the hospital.

BSO has led the investigation ever since.

A $20,000 reward was offered for information leading to the arrest of the shooter or shooters.

That investigation has now coming to a close as BSO says they have cracked the case and that two men will face charges.

Authorities have not yet said what they believe the motive was in the case.
