Fort Lauderdale police said officers responded to the 1200 block of Northwest Eighth Street, in the city’s Durrs neighborhood, just before 4:30 p.m. and found the two victims.

Detective Ali Adamson, an agency spokesperson, said officers provided “tactical medical care” before medics took the two teens to Broward Health Medical Center as trauma alert patients.

“The suspect(s) fled the scene prior to police arrival and no arrests have been made,” Adamson said in an email to Local 10 News Thursday. “Detectives are encouraging anyone with information about this incident or the suspect(s) responsible to contact us immediately.”

Adamson added that the investigation “remains ongoing.”

The shooting comes hours after a 14-year-old boy was injured in a shooting outside of a downtown club Thursday morning. It also comes about a day after a man was shot dead outside of a Presidente Supermarket just a few blocks away on Christmas morning.
