Florida Gov. DeSantis signs space consortium deal at Kennedy Space Center

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis held a news conference from the Kennedy Space Center in Merritt Island on Wednesday afternoon.

DeSantis joined other state officials in Central Florida to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Florida University Space Research Consortium and NASA.

The consortium aims to provide strategic benefits to both NASA and the participating universities, including the University of Central Florida.

Other key partners in the initiative are the University of Florida and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. DeSantis and Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez, who also addressed attendees at the news conference, expressed hope that more universities will join the effort in the future.
