Detectives search for black Dodge pickup truck driver involved in highway shooting

DAVIE, Fla. – Detectives suspect the driver of a black Dodge pickup truck was involved in a recent road rage highway shooting in Broward County.

The shooting was shortly after 7:50 p.m., on Friday, on westbound Interstate 595, near Hiatus Road, in Davie.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, Rondrica Davis was shot in the head and Davie Fire Rescue personnel rushed her to the Broward Health Medical Center.

6 p.m. report:

“I am lucky to be alive,” said Davis, who was a passenger in a Ford Escape.

Davis and her husband had been celebrating their anniversary when the driver of the Dodge preyed on them.

Davie police officers, BSO detectives with the violent crimes unit, and Florida Highway Patrol troopers worked on the case.
