OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – A woman has died after she was struck by a vehicle Monday morning on Interstate 95 in Oakland Park, authorities confirmed.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a crash occurred around 6 a.m. in the northbound lanes of the highway, just north of Oakland Park Boulevard.

One of the parties involved in the collision told troopers that a woman who was also involved in the crash got out of her vehicle and was speaking with him when she was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
The woman was transported to Broward Health North, where she was pronounced dead, authorities confirmed.
Troopers said all northbound lanes of the highway remained closed for hours after the crash, causing massive traffic backups on the highway.
No other details were immediately released. The investigation remains ongoing.
