DAVIE, Fla. – A large police presence was observed in Broward County on Sunday following reports of a police-involved shooting.
It happened near a Chevron gas station near the intersection of Davie Boulevard and Southwest 31st Avenue in Fort Lauderdale.
According to the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, the shooting occurred just after 3 p.m.
One person was rushed to Broward Health Medical Center but there has been no word on their health status.
“I was taking things out of the house then I heard around about eight to nine rounds go off then all of a sudden five minutes later, you heard a bunch of police sirens,” said witness Shawn Bell.
Authorities said no officers were injured in the shooting.
