Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue paramedics declared the men dead on Jan. 6 in the landing gear compartment of a JetBlue Airbus A320-232 at the airport.

Records show the plane had flown from Jamaica to New York on Jan. 5, then to Utah, and back to New York before landing at FLL as flight 1801.

A ground crew reported finding the two men dead during a routine inspection, deputies said. It remained unclear if the men were stowaways.
