KEY LARGO, Fla. – Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. James Hager had an unusual task Friday morning — helping residents in the Pirates Cove subdivision near Mile Marker 98 remove an unwelcome guest from the property.
Cellphone video released by the MCSO shows Hager assisting a resident in guiding an American crocodile away from a pool area. The resident was seen using a broomstick to lead the croc off the property.
Authorities reported no injuries or significant property damage.
They also urged residents to remain cautious around alligators and crocodiles and to report sightings in residential areas.
