MIAMI – Police said they were looking for a suspect who stabbed a 59-year-old man to death in downtown Miami Wednesday afternoon.
Video from Sky 10 showed a pool of blood on the sidewalk outside of Cacique Restaurant, located at 112 W. Flagler St., surrounded by crime scene tape. Miami police officers and county sheriff’s deputies were at the scene.
Officer Rafael Horta, a spokesperson for the Miami Police Department, confirmed just before 3:45 p.m. that detectives were investigating a stabbing in the area.
A Miami Fire Rescue spokesperson said the victim was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in “extreme(ly) critical condition.”
He would later be pronounced dead.
Authorities haven’t said if they’ve determined what led up to the incident.
The killing comes just one day after another man was stabbed to death on a trolley in the city’s Edgewater neighborhood.
