Surveillance video shows the crash on Saturday at Northwest 170th Street and 37th Avenue.

“Speed was a factor, alcohol was also a factor,” Miami Gardens Police Executive Officer Emmanuel Jeanty said.

According to police, Antonio Wilcox, Jr. was driving the black Kia Sorento that plowed into a white Nissan Altima, which then crashed into a gray Cadillac Escalade.

An Opa-locka police officer who was heading to work was among the witnesses. Another witness recorded a video after hearing the loud crash.

Good Samaritans rushed to help. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue personnel responded. The woman and the children who died were inside the Nissan Altima.

Wilcox is facing five counts of vehicular homicide. On Monday, records did not show him as an inmate in Miami-Dade County.
