MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A man died early Wednesday morning after the Honda he was driving collided with an excavator in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 in Miami-Dade County, the Florida Highway Patrol confirmed.

According to FHP Lt. Alex Camacho, the crash was reported around 4:10 a.m. on I-95 near the Golden Glades Interchange.
Camacho said for unknown reasons the Honda drove off the roadway, into the center median, where it collided into the excavator.
The driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene.
The northbound lanes of I-95 were shut down after the crash, with traffic currently being diverted onto State Road 7.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
