MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – A 61-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after police said he shot his nephew in the buttocks following an argument at a home in Miami Gardens.

Miami Gardens police said officers responded to a residence located near the 4000 block of Northwest 192nd Street just before 6 p.m. and found the victim lying in a bedroom near the front door with a gunshot wound to his left buttock.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue airlifted the victim to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital for treatment, according to an arrest report.
The victim’s brother told police that he received a Ring doorbell alert showing his uncle approaching the house.
Moments later, the victim called his brother and told him he had been shot, the report stated.
Upon arriving at the home, police said the victim’s brother followed a trail of blood to a bedroom, where police said he discovered his wounded sibling.
Surveillance video reviewed by police showed a man, identified as Ricardo Fitzgerald Kinsey, walking to a white pickup truck, retrieving what appeared to be a gun, and then heading back inside the home, authorities said.
Police said Kinsey was seen loading the weapon before entering, where arguing could be heard.
Moments later, authorities said surveillance video captured him leaving the house and walking back to the truck, while the victim could be heard moaning in pain.
Authorities took Kinsey into custody and transported him to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
MGPD also confirmed that the victim was unable to provide a statement due to undergoing surgery.
Jail records show Kinsey is facing one count each of second-degree attempted murder with a deadly weapon and illegal possession of a weapon as a convicted felon.
Police did not disclose what Kinsey and his nephew were arguing about before the shooting occurred.
As of Thursday, Kinsey remains at TGK, where he is being held without bond.
