South Florida woman who was reported missing last year gives birth on NYC subway

NEW YORK – A 25-year-old woman from South Florida who was reported missing last year was found this week after she gave birth on a subway in New York City, The New York Times reported.

The New York Times identified the woman in their report as Jenny Saint Pierre, of Hallandale Beach.

Local 10 News reported about Saint Pierre’s disappearance in September 2024. At the time, police said the pregnant woman had been missing for more than a month, as she was last seen by her ex-boyfriend on Aug. 5 at Gulfstream Park, located at 901 S. Federal Hwy.

According to local news outlets in New York City, Saint Pierre gave birth around 11:30 a.m. Wednesday on a subway in Midtown Manhattan.

Witnesses said passengers called 911 and rushed over to the conductor to get him to stop the train.

One passenger cut the baby’s umbilical cord after Saint Pierre delivered her baby.

NYC officials confirmed that the mother and baby were taken to an area hospital and are in good condition.

According to Hallandale Beach police, Saint Pierre had been diagnosed with schizophrenia.

It’s unclear whether she and her baby with stay in New York or if she plans to head home to South Florida.
