DANIA BEACH, Fla. – A child is recovering after being pulled from a swimming pool in Broward County.
It happened on Wednesday at approximately 5:12 p.m. along the 4900 block of Southwest 29th Way in Dania Beach.
According to authorities, deputies and rescue crews responded after receiving calls of a toddler found unresponsive in a swimming pool.
A witness told Local 10 News off camera that before officers arrived, a neighbor who was celebrating his birthday rushed and helped rescue the child to safety.
Upon arrival, officials said they found the child “breathing and conscious.”
Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue took the child to Memorial Regional Hospital where family members said little Lorenzo was in good condition.
An investigation into the incident remains open and active.
