A witness reported that she saw a white Chevrolet Malibu sideswiping signs and fences in the school parking lot earlier this month.
A Broward Sheriff’s deputy responded and approached the driver, Nolex Saint-Victor, 49, in the parking lot.
During questioning, Saint-Victor told the deputy he was coming from his house to Coconut Creek High to pick up his son.
The deputy reported he “immediately detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his immediate area, which became even more pronounced as Saint-Victor spoke and answered questions.”
The deputy said Saint-Victor’s eyes were bloodshot and slightly watery.
The deputy then performed an impairment test, and reported that Saint-Victor was unable to maintain his starting position, and “while completing the first 9-step sequence, he lost balance on his 6th step.”
The deputy said that, “based on my observations on scene, it was determined that Saint-Victor committed the violation of driving under the influence.”
Saint-Victor was arrested and booked into the Broward County Jail.
He was charged with DUI and DUI with damage to property.
