Deputies investigate fatal shooting in Lighthouse Point

LIGHTHOUSE POINT, Fla. – Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that they said occurred following a “domestic disturbance” in Lighthouse Point on Wednesday evening.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, Lighthouse Point police officers responded to a call just before 5:15 p.m. near the 2600 block of Northeast 49th Street.

Upon arrival, officers said they found the victim with a gunshot wound.

BSO said medics transported the man to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Authorities said BSO homicide detectives have taken over the investigation.

They believe the shooting was an isolated incident and no arrests have been made at this time.

No other details about the victim or circumstances surrounding the shooting were immediately released.
