BOCA RATON, Fla. – Finding the perfect pet for your family may require a visit to your local shelter, but Local 10 Animal Advocate Jacey Birch makes it easier by bringing the shelter to you.
In her Animal Advocate segment Friday, Birch visited Tri-County Animal Rescue, a no-kill shelter in Boca Raton, to showcase some of the furry friends in need of a forever home.
“Today feels like one of those family photo shoots when none of the kids are cooperating, but none of our dogs are cooperating either,” Birch joked while introducing two of the shelter’s residents.
Birch met “Bunny,” a nervous little dog shaking with anxiety, and “Rex,” a stray looking for a new family.
“Bunny needs a new family so badly,” Birch said, while Rex, eager to make friends, attempted to play with Bunny, who wasn’t having it.
Birch encouraged potential adopters to visit the shelter, noting that many smaller dogs are available, making them perfect for people living in condos.
