LIGHTHOUSE POINT, Fla. – A vigil will be held on Sunday to honor the life of South Florida barber Bernabe Rodriguez, known to many as Kiko.
The 41-year old was shot Wednesday in what investigators are calling a domestic disturbance in the 2600 block of Northeast 49th Street in Lighthouse Point.
A nearby neighbor captured cellphone video showing Rodriguez on a stretcher before being transported to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Since then, there have a number of tributes honoring the father of two posted to social media, remembering him as good friend, a young entrepreneur and staple in the barber community.
Additional video showed a woman in handcuffs being escorted by a deputy to a patrol car. She was detained for questioning then later released.
No arrests have been made.
Investigators plan to turn the case over to the state attorney’s office for review.
