POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – A wayward driver crashed his or her vehicle into a smoke shop in Pompano Beach Thursday afternoon, also causing damage to — and an injury inside — an adjacent hair salon.
The wreck happened just after 1:15 p.m. at Ora Smoke, located in a small strip mall at 1000 S. Powerline Road.
Video from Sky 10 shows a large hole in the storefront. The vehicle wasn’t visible.
According to Pompano Beach Fire Rescue, the crash “separat(ed) the wall adjoined to the business next door,” a hair salon, injuring one person.
The victim inside the salon is expected to survive.
Brittany Clark, who works nearby, described the aftermath of the crash.
“It’s super smokey, so I open the barber shop door and as soon as you open it, all of the dust and debris initially (comes) out and you see a few people on the ground,” Clark said.
Fire crews were awaiting a building inspector Thursday afternoon.
