Local 10 personalities chow down on chicken wings for a good cause

SOUTH MIAMI, Fla. – The Make-A-Wish “Wings for Wishes” chicken wing eating contest was held on Saturday.

The competition was set against several South Florida TV stations, all competing to see who could eat the most wings.

Some of Local 10′s very own competed in the contest, helping to make life-changing wishes come true, one delicious bite at a time.

But the competition wasn’t the only thing to bite into, with a fun-filled block party behind Sports Grill South Miami, featuring live entertainment, a kids zone and of course, lots and lots of chicken wings.

“This is an incredible event, it’s a block party here, lots of food, and lots of music and it’s all about raising funds for Make-A-Wish Southern Florida,” Local 10 News Anchor Jenise Fernandez said. “So at the end of the day, we may not have won, but we did in the sense that we are helping make wishes come true.”

This year, our very own Local 10 News team came in second place, with 100 percent of net proceeds going toward Make-A-Wish Southern Florida.
