SUNRISE, Fla. – A 16-year-old boy is under arrest after an SUV went off the road and into a canal in Sunrise and the occupants ran from the scene.
Joshua Wynter is now facing a felony charge of grand theft of a motor vehicle.
Police say the vehicle drove through parking stops and the grass before crashing in the water at an apartment complex off Oakland Park Boulevard on Friday.
According to arrest reports, four people were detained, but as of Saturday only Wynter is facing charges.
It’s unclear if more people could be charged.
