Robinson, of Maryland, crashed on Feb. 21, into a Jeep Wrangler, and Gabriella Rios, a 19-year-old student, was ejected near Terminal Isle, police said.
Rios, also known as Gabriela Alejandra Rios Flores, died at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. She had graduated from the Escuela Interamericana in El Salvador and she was working on a bachelor’s degree at Florida International University.
According to the Miami Beach Police Department, a police officer saw Robinson speeding in a silver Polestar before the crash, and he reeked of alcohol and had slurred speech after the crash.
Miami-Dade County inmate records show Robinson has been behind bars since the day of the crash and he was at the Metrowest Detention Center without bond.
Court records show Robinson’s next hearing is at 9 a.m., on Monday before Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge David Young.
