Police said the investigation into Steven Kwoka, 38, began in February 2024 when Instagram tipped off the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about videos shared on the platform. Authorities said a second tip from Snapchat came that May.

In one message on Snapchat, Kwoka is accused of saying “I love little girls under 10 (years) old, do you?” as he received child sexual abuse material.

Police said that led officers to execute a search warrant at Kwoka’s home, located in the 1100 block of Tangelo Isle, on Thursday.

Afterward, detectives found more than 20 illicit images and videos on Kwoka’s iPad, the arrest report states; the victims depicted were girls as young as 3.

Police said he admitted to sharing photos and videos on an app called “Sexy chat” and admitted to the Snapchat message but claimed he was “no longer” attracted to girls that young.

Authorities then took him into custody.

Broward Sheriff’s Office jail records show that Kwoka remained held in the Paul Rein Detention Facility in Pompano Beach on an $82,500 bond as of Tuesday evening.
