OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – A man who barricaded himself prompted a SWAT response in Oakland Park on Wednesday morning, authorities confirmed.
Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies said they responded to a residence near the 5200 block of North Dixie Highway after receiving a call of a barricaded subject.
Sky 10 flew over the scene just before 11 a.m. as officers with BSO’s SWAT team and crisis negotiators worked to resolve the situation. Deputies confirmed that the suspect was detained but his age and identity were not disclosed.
The investigation is ongoing and no other details as to why the man barricaded himself were immediately released.
