MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – A Miami-Dade man is celebrating a major win after claiming a $1 million prize from the Florida Lottery’s “500X THE CASH” scratch-off game.

Marcos Valim, 50, claimed his prize at the Lottery’s Miami District Office and chose to receive a one-time, lump-sum payment of $640,000, Lottery officials confirmed in a news release Monday.
They said Valim bought the winning ticket at Publix, located at 4870 Biscayne Blvd., in Miami.
The store earned a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the lucky scratch-off.
“The $50 “500X THE CASH” scratch-off game offers a top prize of $25 million — the largest ever for a Florida scratch-off — and boasts some of the best odds to become an instant millionaire,” the Florida Lottery stated in a news release. “With more than $1.66 billion in cash prizes, the game has overall odds of 1-in-4.23.”
